THATTIL KUTTI DOSA & GARLIC CHUTNEY

Dosa is a typical part of the South Indian diet and popular all over the Indian subcontinent. Dosa featured here was one of the characters in the Malayalam movie "SALT'N PEPPER". Kuttidosa made on thattu (wide hot plate) is popular all over Kerala.




thattilkutti dosa & garlic chutney



INGREDIENTS:

For batter
Idly - 1/2 cup
Raw rice - 1/2 cup
Urad dal - 1/4 cup
Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
Thick poha - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste

For Chutney
Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Green chili - 2
Garlic - small piece 
Ginger - small piece
Curry leaves
Salt to taste
Water

METHOD:

1. Wash and soak urad dal, idly rice, raw rice, fenugreek seeds and thick poha for 5 hours.


2. Grind it to a fine paste and add salt. Keep it aside for fermentation.

3.Heat dosa pan. Pour 1/2 ladleful batter and make small dosa. Sprinkle ghee/oil on top the dosas. Cook for 2 minutes on a medium heat. Turn other side and cook till golden color.

         Serve with garlic chutney/sambar.


Garlic chutney:

Grind 1/2 cup grated coconut, 2 green chili, small garlic piece, small piece ginger, curry leaves and salt to a smooth and thick paste with little water.
