MILK TEA/ PAAL CHAYA

by , in

In India, tea is a very popular beverage and Indians love their cup of tea. The importance of tea drinking in India cannot be confined to words, they have their cup of hot steaming tea first thing in the morning in order to stimulate their senses and refresh themselves.

Most of them drink tea with milk and sugar. Traditionally, a guest in any Indian home is welcomed with a cup of tea.

India is the world’s largest producer of tea and the three prominent tea-growing regions in India are Darjeeling, Assam and Nilgiri.

International tea day is observed annually on May 21.

A strong, steamy cup of tea/chaya is one of the first things I am making everyday. Chaya is one of those recipes where every household has their own version. There are many ways to make a cup of chaya, but listed below is how my family enjoy the tea.

INGREDIENTS:

Water - 1 cup
Tea powder - 2 tsp
Milk - 1 cup
Sugar - 2 tsp

METHOD:

1. Heat the tea pot with 1 cup of water.

2. Once the water starts boiling add 2 tsp of tea powder.

3. Let it boil for a couple of minutes.

4. Add 1 cup of milk.

5. Let it boil for 4-5 minutes or until milk boils. Switch off the flame.

6. Strain the tea to another vessel and add sugar. Stir it.

7. Pour the tea from the vessel into the cup as high as possible. This improves the flavor of the tea and make the tea more bubbly.

8. Serve hot........

MANGO FROOTI

by , in

A commercial drink made homemade with real fruit and no preservatives. This mango frooti drink is really fresh and juicy. Mango is in the season and the best way to relish it is making this mango drink. It is loved by all. When I saw mango frooti can be made at home I was so excited and wanted to try it.

INGREDIENTS:

Ripe mango - 2
Raw mango - 1
Sugar - 1&1/2 cup
Water - 2 to 3 cup

METHOD:

1. Wash and peel the skin of raw mango & ripe mango. Chop into pieces.

2. Pressure cook the mangoes in high flame for 5 whistles.

3. Open the cooker after the steam is released. Once the mangoes cool down, grind it to a pulp without adding extra water.

4. Now strain the pulp to remove the fiber.

5. Now let's make the sugar syrup. Bring the sugar and water to a boil.

6. We don't need any string consistency sugar syrup. So when it got a good boil, it's done. Keep it aside & cool down.

7. Mix the sugar syrup and smooth mango pulp together.

8. Mix well and add water as per your consistency.

9. Now pulpy yummy mango frooti is ready.......Chill it & serve !!!!!!!
