ADA DOSA

Ada Dosa is a type of dosa usually served at breakfast and it is very nutritious. It is made with 3 types of lentils - Chana dhal, Toor dhal, Urad dal, Rice along with red chillies, asafoetida, curry leaves. This is a simple recipe and no need to ferment this batter. Usually this is served with jaggery and ghee.

INGREDIENTS:

Idly rice - 3/4 cup
Raw rice - 1/4 cup
Toor dal - 1/4 cup
Channa dal - 1/4 cup
Urad dal - 2 tbsp
Red chili - 5 to 6
Curry leaves
Asafetida - pinch
Salt to taste

METHOD:

1. Wash and soak dals and rice for about 3 to 4 hours.

2. Make a fine paste of the soaked dal-rice mixture and red chili in a grinder.

3. Add salt, asafeotida and chopped green chili. Keep the batter aside for about 10 minutes.

4. Heat a flat tava/dosa kallu. Sprinkle some oil on it and spread the oil evenly.

5. Spread the batter onto the tawa evenly.

6. Add a little ghee to all the corners.

7. Once you spot the dosa turning golden yellow in color you can take it out of the tawa and serve along with coconut chutney or jaggery and ghee mix - either way you like.
