ALOO BONDA

Aloo Bonda is a very popular evening snack recipe which is loved by kids and adults alike. It is also quite famous as a street food item, especially in South India. It is easy-to-make and is best enjoyed with chutney.




INGREDIENTS:

For Filling:
Potato - 2
Green chili - 2
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Onion - 1
Ginger - 1-inch piece 
Curry leaves
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
For batter: 
Gram Flour - 1cup
Rice flour - 1 tbsp
Water as required
Red Chili powder - 1/2 tsp
Hing - pinch
Salt to taste
Oil - for frying


METHOD:

Preparing Filling:

1. Boil the potatoes in a steamer or cooker.

2. Peel and mash them and keep aside.

3. Heat oil ,splutter mustard seeds.

4. Then add green chilli, curryleaves, ginger and finely chopped onion. Saute till translucent.

5. Add turmeric powder. Mix well.

6. Add mashed potato.

7. Add little water and cook for 5 mins.

8. Keep aside for cooling.

Prepareing batter:

9. In a bowl ,add gram flour, rice flour, salt, hing and red chili powder. Mix well.

10. Then add water and make a smooth dosa batter type consistency.

11. Now make small balls of the potato mix.

12. Dip each ball in the batter and deep fry them till golden color.

13. Tasty aloo bonda is ready to serve.
